Other Notable California Achievements
Threefer Stewardship Project Contract
NWTF awarded the Threefer Stewardship Project Contract to complete 286 acres of natural stand thinning, 210 acres of plantation thinning, 29 acres of biomass removal and 68 acres of mastication.
Placer County Prescribed Burning
NWTF continued its partnership with the Placer County Conservation District to complete 67 acres of prescribed burning.
Turkey Banding Program Equipment Support
The California State Chapter contributed $15,000 to the California Fish and Wildlife Turkey Banding Program to purchase equipment.
Canada de los Osos Water Guzzler System
The California State Chapter partnered with the Canada de los Osos Wildlife Preserve to place a water guzzler system.
California Sportsman Caucus Advisory Council
The NWTF became a member of the California Sportsman Caucus Advisory Council to work with other nonprofits and Sportsman Caucus representatives to protect hunting heritage and science-based management in the state.
Colt Project Biomass Removal
NWTF California assisted with the removal of an additional 17,517 tons of biomass from the Colt Project on the Klamath National Forest.
Granite Thin Project Contract
NWTF awarded the Granite Thin Project Contract to complete 1,556 acres of timber removal and fuels reduction work, and road reconstruction. The contractor completed the road reconstruction and 33.6 acres of timber removal.
Cleveland Icehouse Stewardship Project
NWTF completed 3.5 miles of road reconstruction on the El Dorado National Forest for the Cleveland Icehouse Stewardship Project.
Wheelin' Sportsmen Program
The NWTF's Wheelin' Sportsmen program in California continued to provide hunting experiences for individuals with disabilities under the leadership of volunteer Don Wixon.
